WiFi Enabled Garage Door Opener
Many homeowners want the latest and greatest in available technology called MyQ. The WiFi connectivity of this motor not only allows the homeowner to monitor the use of their door, but it is also packed with internet-based safety features. Homeowners can opt-in to get notifications on opens and closes and are able to control each function remotely from their smartphone.
LiftMaster Chain Driven
The chain drive is the most common LiftMaster opener. Chain drives are a classic choice, plus they’re durable and boast long-lasting performance and value. In a chain drive opener, a chain running along a rail operates the electric motor that lifts and lowers the door. The drive is connected to a system of rollers, gears and pins that are balanced so that the door opens and closes smoothly.
LiftMaster Belt Driven Drive
The belt-driven drive can be thought of as the “strong, silent type.” Belt-driven drives are nearly the same as chain-driven drives except that instead of a chain, they use a rubber belt. The belt-driven drive has a rubber style belt that runs the length of the rail, but it operates the same way a chain does in a chain drive. Because of this, belt drives are able to operate much more quietly than chain drives.
LiftMaster Jack Shaft Drive
Sometimes there is no space available on the ceiling for a belt or chain drive. In this situation, a jack shaft opener can be used in the garage. The jack shaft motor is able to be mounted out of the way on either side of the door and it doesn’t need a chain. In this type of system, a small, powerful DC motor turns the torsion spring itself, which raises and lowers the door. The LiftMaster Jack Shaft Drive uses less space than other options and the lack of a chain means quiet operation.
