LiftMaster Belt Driven Drive
The belt-driven drive can be thought of as the “strong, silent type.” Belt-driven drives are nearly the same as chain-driven drives except that instead of a chain, they use a rubber belt. LiftMaster Jack Shaft Drive
Sometimes there is no space available on the ceiling for a belt or chain drive. In this situation, a jack shaft opener can be used in the garage. The jack shaft motor is able to be mounted out of the way on either side of the door and it doesn’t need a chain. In this type of system, a small, powerful DC motor turns the torsion spring itself, which raises and lowers the door. The LiftMaster Jack Shaft Drive uses less space than other options and the lack of a chain means quiet operation.
